Martha L. Rothman

Martha Leibowitz Rothman, FAIA, graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1965 with a Master of Arts in Architecture. She joined Rothman Partners in 1971, founded in1968 by her husband Elliot Paul Rothman. Martha was President of Rothman Partners Architects until 2005 when the firm merged with Anshen + Allen of San Francisco, with Marthab ecoming a principal at Anshen + Allen + Rothman, then Anshen + Allen until 2010. Martha joined Shepley Bulfinch as a consulting principal from 2011 until 2016.

Notable projects of the Rothman firm in New England are The Carl J. Shapiro Clinical Center atBeth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Research and Education Building at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a master plan for the Harvard Longwood Campus, a maternal and NICU wing at Women and Infants’ Hospital in Providence and the College of Engineering at the University of New Hampshire. At Shepley Bulfinch she had the opportunity to develop the master plan for a new University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda for Partners In Health.
