Ed Miller

Ed Miller grew up in Teaneck, N.J., where his parents delivered newspapers for a living and were members of the Communist Party. Ed has been a writer, editor, and publisher of newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and books for 45 years. He was a founding editor and publisher of the Harvard Post, an award-winning weekly newspaper in Harvard, Mass., and also a founder of the Bolton (Mass.) Common and the Harvard Common Press. He is the author or co-author of five books, including How to Produce a Small Newspaper: A Guide for Independent Journalists. As the founding editor of Highwire magazine, he was twice nominated for National Magazine Awards. His undergraduate and graduate degrees are in music and education, both from Harvard University, he is a former editor of the Harvard Education Letter, and he was a founder of the U.S. Alliance for Childhood. He has taught writing at both Harvard and Sarah Lawrence College. Ed has been associate editor of the Provincetown Banner since 2015. He lives in Wellfleet.
