June Hager, Vice President

After almost 40 years of living abroad (Liberia, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Egypt, Italy), June returned in 2013 with her husband Mike to retire on Cape Cod (Eastham). She had worked for the last 18 years as a journalist at the Vatican and as the on-site Managing Editor for the English-language monthly"Inside the Vatican." For the Millennium in Rome, she published "Pilgrimage," an architectural and spiritual history of the churches of Rome: (Cassell and Co. 2001).

June planned to spend her late years quietly studying and exploring Cape Cod, town by historic town, era by era from the glaciers and original peoples to the present day. But the opportunity to join Rhoda Flaxman, founder/director of the Open University of Wellfleet and her Board was much more tempting. She enjoys promoting and taking as many OUW courses as possible each semester.
